My research area of interest is systems and networks. I have been a contributing member of the Embedded Xinu team at Marquette University since the summer of 2006 under the advising of Dr. Dennis Brylow. Embedded Xinu is an educational operating system designed with simplicity in mind. Xinu was first developed in the mid-1980s; currently we are targeting Xinu to the Linksys WRT54GL wireless router. My contributions have including a re-writing of the UART and TTY drivers, the development of a user shell, implementation of mailboxes for inter-process communication, and a preliminary network stack implementation.

Currently, I am focusing on real-time transport control protocol (TCP) for embedded devices. I presented a poster at the ACM Student Research Competition at SIGCSE 2009. I placed third at the conference and will be submitting a paper to the grand finals.
